Tamil Nadu vs Karnataka vs Andhra Pradesh, built entirely on verified Government of India data.
Atoms + bits.

Every few months a viral chart claims Chennai is losing the startup race to Bengaluru. So we went to the primary source instead: the Government of India's 5th Edition States' Startup Ecosystem Ranking, from DPIIT and Startup India, and read it honestly.
What it says. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are both rated Top Performers, the same band, genuine peers. On infrastructure and innovation, Tamil Nadu scores a perfect 100%. Its two thinnest areas are funding and market access, and those are the exact two where Karnataka is strongest.
The gap that actually matters. Tamil Nadu is not behind on building. It is behind on capital and market access. The atoms are here and the bits are here. What is thin is the money that backs founders early, and the doorways that carry a Tamil Nadu startup to its first big customer. That is a solvable gap, and closing it turns a Top Performer into a Best Performer.
